WORCESTER — Plows are digging out from the first part of a two-day storm that smashed the record for Dec. 1 snowfall at Worcester Regional Airport. The 8.9 inches that fell in Worcester Sunday more than doubled the 4.2 inches recorded on Dec. 1, 1917, according to Kimberly Buttrick, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Norton. Up to 13 inches of snow was measured in parts of Central Massachusetts since the storm arrived Sunday, and the total will grow as snow continues. [Read More]
