A person suspected of drunk driving closed a portion of Greenwich Avenue after crashing into a utility pole Saturday morning, police said. Stamford police said a lone driver lost control of their vehicle and crashed into a utility pole around 12:20 a.m. Saturday in the area of 37 Greenwich Avenue. The force of the accident snapped the pole and, as a result, Greenwich Avenue was closed between West Main Street and Richmond Hill Avenue to vehicular and pedestrian traffic due to downed power lines.
